About EDRAGNIKE

WHO AM I:

I’m a music composer for film and video games.

With a solid background that includes pop, classical, jazz and electronic music, my style and imagination have been carved by a profound passion for animation, video games and musical theatre. Pokémon, La La Land, Disney movies, Twin Peaks, The Witcher, Zelda are only few of my main musical inspirations.

My music rejects complexity for its own sake: I believe that every obstacle can be surmounted with effective communication and cooperation within fellow creatives. This open and beautiful contact is able to shape embryonal thoughts into matter, reflecting the experiences of growth and transformation that humans go through all their lives.

My goal is to express my vision and convey my ideas in the most genuine way possible: honesty and intuition are the solid bases of my artistic practice.

I usually collaborate with game development studios as well as solo developers, animators and filmmakers. Recently, he finished composing the music soundtrack for the animated short film “Don’t Burn” and the VR experience “Whose Choice?”.

On February 4, 2025, thanks to the collaboration between Codarts and the International Film Festival Rotterdam, my re-score of the animated film “E6-D7” by Eno Swinnen was played live by an orchestra in the magical setting of the LantarenVenster.

In June 2025 I will graduate from Codarts (Rotterdam) with a Master’s research investigating the relationship between music and sound design in video games.

My story:

Being heavily allergic, I couldn't spend a lot of time outside during my childhood.

The stories I dove into by switching on my console were, therefore, the most precious occasions in which I could lose myself in exploration, from wild and open nature to busy or abandoned cities. I still keep the melodies and soundscapes from my favorite games, films and TV shows in my mind and heart, and I didn't really notice for a long time how heavily they've influenced my music taste and style.

I believe that music generates from the deepness of your guts, and sprouts to evoke feelings: that’s why, when connected to images, people can give a name and face to those emotions.

While you’re haunted by bad thoughts, I believe a calming melody can always find its way into people’s heart. I remain that same little boy, eager to hear about your ideas and to give his contribution to your project.
